The adept and refined Brooklyn hip hop artist, producer and DJ, Lars Viola from Long Island, NY grew up heavily inspired by the sample-based New York City sound. Starting his musical journey as a drummer at 11, Lars began exploring sampling machines like the Akai MPC 2000xl in his teens,which quickly inspired him to make a full commitment into honing in on his craft as a rapper/producer during his college years. Currently, his jazzy hip hop album, Surface Noise, encompassing a smooth etheric quality, with a balance of public-spirited lyrics, escapism, retrospection, and sometimes stream of consciousness style raps over golden age inspired beats, is dropping February 4th, 2022. Lars Viola tags in some of his favorite musical cohorts to join him on a few tracks, including Quelle Chris, Like, and Shacar with guest production from Exile, Squires, and Budo Kiba.
