Lasse Schjerning

Lasse Schjerning is a Danish jazz drummer who finished his studies at the Danish National Academy of Music in 2016. He picked up the drumsticks at a young age, and has since then been touring all over Europe and played concerts in the United States. His musical approach to the drum kit has put him projects and constellations with national and international icons such as Aaron Parks, Mark Turner and Mikkel Ploug - and he is still constantly learning and growing musically. In 2019 he formed his new trio with the young Brazilian lions Pedro Martins & Frederico Heliodoro - their debut album released in 2020.

The trio recorded the debut EP in Copenhagen as the culmination of a two week long tour in March 2019. Culled from ten originals written for this exact group, the album presents two originals by Lasse Schjerning, one by Frederico Heliodoro and one written by Brazilian guitarist and composer, Daniel Santiago.
