Lasse Wellander started working as a full time musician at the age of sixteen and has since long been one of Sweden's most engaged guitarists on recordings, live, on TV etc. and is one of Swedens most recorded studio musicians. He has worked with most of Sweden's popular artists, for example ABBA - participating on all the major tours and most of the recordings.
His collaboration with Björn and Benny continued after ABBA, with the Chess project as well as the soundtracks for Mamma Mia! The Movie and its sequel Mamma Mia! Here we go again. He also participates on the ABBA album Voyage, released in 2021.
Lasse has also released some solo albums over the years, from which "Anthem" from Chess and "Romans ur Pastoralsvit, opus 19" by Lars-Eric Larsson attracted some extra attention and actually made the charts in Sweden, which is quite unusual for instrumental numbers.
He has since 2017 produced and released his own music as an "indie" after some years break.
