Lateral

Lateral is a live electronic music duo from India, formed by producer brothers Siddharth Barooa and Amitabh Barooa in 2016. The debut EP ‘Us’ was released in February 2017 followed by couple of singles and music videos in 2018. They just released their 4 song second EP ‘Other Words’ in June 2019 and also released the first lead single and music video of the song “What a Way To Know’.

The brothers are members of the popular Alternative/Progressive Rock band called Lucid Recess from India. They are also the producers and operators of Lucid Recess Studio based in Guwahati, and have worked with, recorded and produced about 200 artists and bands from all over the country.

The idea for Lateral was conceived by the brothers out of pure love for electronic music and their love for playing live shows. They use guitars, bass, saxophone to keep their lives shows organic and engaging. The music, rather than being fixed to a specific genre of electronic music, is more an experimentation with a wide range of styles from house to downtempo to electronica with a nice retro vibe.

They have done a number of shows across the country. Some notable performances include NH7 Meghalaya 2017, Ziro Festival of Music 2017, Papum Pare Festival (Arunachal Pradesh), DMF Festival (Meghalaya) to name a few. They have played at most major clubs such as recently BlueFrog Bangalore, The People and Co in Gurgaon and K Boulevard Delhi etc.
