Laud

LAUD, a stage name for Tumisang Kekana, was born in Hammanskraal in the late 1990s.
He spent the majority of his youth being raised by his grandmother before moving to Attridgeville to attend Laudium Heights Primary School. He afterwards relocated to the vaal, where he began high school.Growing up, Laud was a shy and reserved youngster, but he always loved music. He started to play the drums at church, but his dream of becoming a drummer never came true.He began producing deep house in his first years of high school, progressed to producing Hip Hop beats, and then went to Amapiano in 2020.

Midway through 2020, he met Visca in the Vaal; they remained close until Visca joined Money Gang later that year. As he moved about Johannesburg, he made sure that people respected his name. Everything for Laud began when Visca contacted and asked him to come through to DJ Maphorisa's studio. Later, as he built relationships in the east Rand, things started to shift in a way that indicated progress. His sound also began to develop. Laud released Kubi in early 2022, followed by the release of the single "4" in late 2022. He then released his debut album, "REARABETSWE," on January 27, 2023.
