Laura Ash

Laura Ash is a Finnish singer-songwriter. Mainly a singer and a writer but also much marinated in music so melodies come through her quite effortlessly.

Ash is a third generation musician who's father is, and grandfather was, an organist. Singer’s first vocal coach wanted her to become an opera singer because of her wide register but she wanted something else. Ash composes her songs with piano but has also played violin for many years as a child.

Ash's music is unique, so even her producer hasn't been able to say in what genre her music belongs to. It's definitely a combination of many different music genres but mostly influenced by classical music.

Ash's melodies support the lyrics of the songs which have usually strong stories behind them.

Originally Ash wanted to do sort of melodic punk music because she loves the energy and "out of the box", marginal thinking of punk. But in reality her music is closer to some artistic music genre. Maybe her most punkish song lyrics so far is Fakeland.

Laura Ash is an independent artist. She has never offered her music to any record company or record label. It's important to her to have her independence with artistic views and decisions about her music.
