Playing to the beat of the heart
Award winning singer/songwriter /producer Laura Suarez has been active in the LA music scene for over twenty years. She began playing in Hollywood clubs with an electronic band called Pets Gone Wild and later played in clubs as a solo acoustic musician. She is a trained vocalist and a published writer who has performed original material at clubs such as Genghis Cohen, Al’s Bar, Gazzari’s and many other venues in the Los Angeles such as several gay pride festivals. Laura’s biggest influences were singers like Phoebe Snow and the blues singers she grew up listening to. As a blues singer, she performed with the West Coast Reunion for several years in the Long Beach area. Her set still includes many Motown and R and B cover tunes such as Be My Baby by the Ronettes and Bad Case of Love by B.B. King. While living in Long Beach, Laura was a featured artist for several years at the Portfolio Coffee House and later performed on a regular basis at other coffee houses in the Long Beach, Seal Beach and Santa Monica area. Laura has recorded seven CDs which range from blues to contemporary Christian. She is a two-time Global Music Awards winner and a past winner of the American Tracks Music Awards. She recently released two new singles (Another Once Upon a Time 2020 and Angels in Battle) which are songs that reflect upon the challenging times our country is facing. Her next full-length album is set for release in 2021.
