Laura Tanifum, the multifaceted Cameroonian singer-songwriter, seamlessly weaves her diverse musical influences into a captivating tapestry of sounds. Born in French Cameroon, Laura embarked on her musical journey at the age of 11, translating her poetic expressions into soulful song lyrics.
Shaped by a nomadic upbringing, Laura's life involved relocating every three years due to her father's career in international development, before settling in Canada. This constant movement exposed her to a rich tapestry of musical styles, influencing her versatile approach to music.
With her first single catching the attention and ears of DJ Ricochet, and earning her airtime on Flow93.5’s Made In Toronto Takeover, this early recognition foreshadows Laura's ascention in the music industry.
After completing Abstract Learning's artist development program, Laura's artistry as a distinct Toronto AfroPop artist, is poised to leave an undeniable mark on the global music scene. In February 2024, Laura released her debut AfroPop single "TITLE" as a strong new genre debut, and a return to her craft and her fans. In July of the same here, she joined forces with RIAA certified producer Lou Xtwo for a highly anticipated follow-up single “Wavey”, an Amapiano-laced summer Pop anthem.
