Lawn Dog is a Blendie (indie blend) rock band based out of Auburn, AL. Its members include Garrett Moore (Guitar/Vox), Colton Redmond (Keys/Guitar), Cole Sibley (Bass), and Ben Tankersley (Drums). The fellas formed in the dastardly heat of the summer of 2024 and have played multiple shows around the Auburn area.
Their journey began when Garrett, the bassist of another local band, Varsity Blues, decided he wanted another outlet for his music — one that was formed around his natural writing style. As his vision began to take shape, he searched for members who would be willing to brave his terrible dad jokes, disturbingly hot music room, and outstanding tomfoolery. He eventually stumbled across the three gents in various places such as classes, church, and everywhere in between.
Though their sound at this point leans deep into the jubilant, chorus-laden tones of Hers, Boy Pablo, and Peach Pit, and the dreamy rock feel of Wallows, Far Caspian, and Vacations, their lyrics dig into a much more somber tone, touching on personal struggles with anger, growth, and fear of change. While their songs may hit hard, at their core, they're just guys making music to have fun and want to keep the joy of writing and playing at their center.
Their debut single, "Rain Dance," was released on all major streaming platforms on October 4th, with more music soon to follow.
