Layne Asa

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Layne Asa grew up listening to blues and indie-folk music. She uses these influences to create her smooth and rather catchy melodies. While these melodies are particularly heavy and emotional, there’s a glimpse of hope in every song. Asa says, “I just want to make sad people happy to be sad.” This can be felt all throughout Growing Pains, Asa’s first EP, as she takes you through some of the hard lessons learned on the journey that is “growing up.”
