Originally from Amelia Island on the coast of Florida, LAYTON is making a splash with her distinctively beachy, sunkissed pop. As her features with Lyfes, Prymo, and Bardo approach over 1.5 million streams, LAYTON’s debut single “sad boy” spotlights both her knack for bouncing, chilled out pop as well as honest and meaningful lyricism.
Growing up drawn to music brought LAYTON to Nashville in 2015 to study songwriting at Belmont University. She started writing and releasing singer-songwriter and folk, leaning songs on her Soundcloud, nurturing her lyrical instincts for honest and personal storytelling. Within a year, she quickly found her footing in the pop community, starting to branch out from her formerly acoustic sound, but never leaving behind her singer-songwriter lyrical sensibilities. LAYTON’s songs might bounce along to upbeat, beachy production, but her lyrics are unafraid to dive deep. Her songs take influence from artists like Julia Michaels, Chelsea Cutler, and Charlotte Lawrence.
LAYTON’s new single “fletcher ave.” is out now.
