Layzi is an Emo Trap artist based out of Suffolk, UK. Following a traumatic childhood which eventually landed him on the streets, he found solace in the form of music. "Growing up, I didn't have any phone or access to the internet so I didn't talk to anyone or listen to any music. My first introduction to Hip Hop happened when I moved in with my grandparents at 14 and I have loved it ever since", he said. Delving deeper into the sub genres of Rap, Layzi discovered the Emo Scene, more particularly Lil Peep and Lil Tracy. "Lil Peep and Lil Tracy are my idols. I respect them both so much", he said, and the influence is clear in the music. "Crash and Burn" opens up with a Peep type guitar beat before evolving into an anthem touching on emotional pain, trauma, and relationships. But don't call him Peep part 2, or another Juice Wrld copy: " I don't want to live in their shadow man. They influenced me but I am Layzi and my experiences made me who I am". Diving deeper into the music, it becomes more obvious what he shares with his idols and what he built upon. On "I Don't Want to Feel Tonight" he sings clear with emotion, evoking images of a dark cold night as he expresses his desire to escape emotion. Sound familiar? Despite his name, Layzi has worked for years to craft his own sound and with repeat listens it becomes obvious he is quite the opposite of a lazy person.
