SURREY UP! Lazarous is an emerging hip-hop artist from Surrey, BC. Inspired by the sounds of <a href="spotify:artist:5K4W6rqBFWDnAN6FQUkS6x" data-name="Kanye West">Kanye West</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3nFkdlSjzX9mRTtwJOzDYB" data-name="JAY-Z">JAY-Z</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:20qISvAhX20dpIbOOzGK3q" data-name="Nas">Nas</a>, Lazarous began recording tracks in 2018 with the aim of bringing a new sound to the Vancouver hip-hop scene. Lazarous creates flows that are filled with hunger and drive; he often draws from his family's experience as refugees who fled war-torn Sudan and built a better life for themselves through perseverance and hope. Using his novel life experiences as the backdrop to his music, Lazarous has etched out a unique lane in Vancouver's burgeoning hip-hop scene.
