Lazy Sods, the electrifying new wave band fronted by Steve Hawkins (best known as the powerhouse voice of Chrome Molly), have dropped their debut single, “We Are Kings.”
Fusing the raw energy of punk with the melodic swagger of classic new wave, We Are Kings is a statement of intent, bold, rebellious, and unapologetically loud. The track captures the band’s signature blend of attitude and precision, showcasing Hawkins’ unmistakable vocals alongside razor-sharp riffs and pounding rhythms.
Formed by Hawkins with Paul, Kev, and Houdi, the powerhouse trio formerly of Iron Python Lazy Sods is more than just a supergroup; it’s a creative collision of experience and raw instinct. Together, they’ve carved out a sound that’s both nostalgic and new, a high-voltage revival of the anthemic rock energy that defined a generation.
“We wanted to make something that feels alive, something that kicks you in the teeth but still gets stuck in your head,” says Hawkins. “We Are Kings is that song. It’s the sound of four musicians who still love the chaos.”
The single marks the beginning of a new era for the band, with a full LP currently in production and a run of live dates to follow.
