You can’t get colder than Le Spectre, so chilled and sharp are his tracks. Where countless others slather their music with black paint, in Halloween infused compositions, Le Spectre goes beyond atmospherics and decoration : from The Anger of the Lord to Burning Roses, Le Spectre creates martial soundtracks for horror movies, pop melodies for irradiated factories, beats for ice covered dance floors. Far from the whiney comfort of so many retrofuturists scavenging the music of John Carpenter movies, Le Spectre racks our nerves, playing with viscous and clammy textures queasily close to our guts. His black-flagged electronics are so appealing they could give new life to age-old myths - beware of the raising dead. J.D Beauvalet (Les Inrocks)
