The output of self-described "non-musician" Leandro Fresco ranges from ambient to commercial pop and includes collaborations with Soda Stereo and Shakira.

A native of Buenos Aires, Fresco began making music in his teen years and released his first album, a set of experimental electronic tracks titled Cápsula, in 1996. Years later, he and Gustavo Cerati forged a long-term creative partnership. Fresco performed as a member of Cerati's backing band, assisted him with recording sessions -- a commercial peak achieved with contributions to Shakira's Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 -- and joined Cerati's Soda Stereo for touring purposes. All the while, Fresco recorded as a solo artist and released albums such as the uniformly low-key but stylistically diverse Luz Sin Calor (2005), the contemporary pop/rock-oriented Leandro Fresco (2014), and the all-ambient El Reino Invisible (2015), the latter of which was released by Cologne, Germany's Kompakt label, which had previously showcased his ambient side on 12" and on three of their annual Pop Ambient compilations. In 2017, A Strangely Isolated Place issued La Equidistancia, Fresco's first collaboration with Rafael Anton Irisarri. Their second release, Una Presencia en la Brisa, appeared in 2020. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
