Born 1992 in Glasgow, Lee Keanes has spent half her life in Scotland and half her life in Germany. Raised by two liberal computer-scientists, who enjoy knitting jumpers with colorful images of complex algebra, she early on experienced the freedom of not having to fit in. After studying Performance Art at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she went on to do the following (of which one is false):
-Learning how to build her own farm in France
-Giving music-therapy to children with special needs in Croatia
-Directing a Chinese play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
-Founding an alternative strip-club , in which the dancers were fully dressed in horrendous knitted nude-suits
-Working as a kindergarten teacher
-And finally pursuing her deepest passion: music
She is currently working in a multi-religious church, in which she seeks to build bridges between cultures and religions through music.
‘Stay Soft’ is her first album and as a solo-artist.
Lee Keanes believes in:
-Staying soft, in our bodies, our minds and our hearts.
Always opening ourselves up to new people, ideas and experiences.
-Keeping the silly alive! Never stopping our inner child from playing! Yes, you shall put the entire bag of smarties in your mouth at once and go on the round-about. No, you do not care if there is an age-limit for the round-about. Yes, you have ID on you.
-Putting forks the wrong way round into the dishwasher, so you don’t have to touch the sticky end
AMEN
