Hailing from Fremantle, W.A, Lefty is an emerging four-piece blending introspective lyricism with an electrifying sonic palette.
Originally formed by schoolmates Sacha Mrzic, Tyson Elverd, Liam Chia, and Tiana Garbin, Lefty is the group’s first musical project since graduating high school—yet their maturity as composers and storytellers speaks well beyond their years.
The band has developed a striking ability to craft songs that are both musically intricate and emotionally resonant.
Their sound draws from the experimental textures of London-based acts like:
Mount Kimbie and King Krule, while nodding to the gritty alt-rock energy of bands like Title Fight and Basement.
At the same time, their roots are planted firmly in Perth’s indie scene, evolving from early influences like Spacey Jane.
The result is a sound that fuses ambient tones and moody guitars with the raw pulse of Australian indie rock—equal parts atmosphere and urgency.
