Leif the Viking, born Leif Laitinen, is an electronic music producer and dj from Oregon. In 2007 a close friend introduced him to the genre with music by Basshunter and Tiesto. From there his exploration in electronic music lead him to find his home and future influences with the likes of deadmau5, Attlas, Rufus Du Sol, Zhu and Eric Prydz.
Leif's first release was an EP by the name of "mark my words" after the first track of a synthwave vibe. The second track, "Lonesome," was of an ambient tone and helps to round out the EP for a chill/calming vibe.
"Do You Smell Smoke" was made from the frustration of not being able to club due to the Coronavirus pandemic and named after his experience with the Oregon fires in 2020.
