Leila Jane

With vocals that have been compared to Janis Joplin, Sandy Denny, Jess Glynn, Robyn and Sia, Leila Jane has been successfully melding her influences to create her own style of alternative pop. Nialler 9 acknowledged her latest EP, Revolve Evolve as ‘’showing her affinity for 60s alt-folk and classic harmonic sounds’’ while her single Wild was shortlisted to represent Ireland in last year’s Eurovision. Leila Jane’s versatility has allowed her to progress from roots of blues and folk to a compelling style of indie and alt pop. Her ability to create meaningful work has seen her achieve feats such as gaining the Imelda May Scholarship to study at BIMM, and winning runner-up in the Christy Hennessy song competition.
Leila Jane likes to infuse her songs with strong messages of triumph over darkness. Of her 2023 release, ‘’Poison’’, N magazine states: ‘’here is the rage of an abused angel in a realm without justice’’ and of her recent single ‘’Love Will Come Rushing’’, Alfitude states: ‘’Aside from her distinctive vocals, this gifted musician is also capable of translating her truest thoughts and emotions into sincere and heartfelt lyrics.’’
