Formed in 2019 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Leisure Living’s Josh Iverson (guitar/vocals), Jp Lipzok (guitar/vocals), Nick Meyer (bass guitar), and Ray Miske (drums) have been playing music together, in one form or another, for the better part of their lives.
Like some amalgamation of every band your friends have ever been in, the Leisure Living origin story reads like a regional Rock and Roll Venn diagram. Now these four long time musical compatriots find themselves exploring new sonic terrain in Leisure Living.
Despite what the name suggests, the music of Leisure Living is anything but lazy. With their collective musical voice approaching full realization, this creatively adventurous project locates a deeper understanding of what moves hearts, heads and feet.
It’s all the creaminess of Crazy Horse. The trance of Television. The sweat ethic of Superchunk. The swagger of The Stooges. It’s Alt, Folk, and Rock, ripped between psychedelic and punk tendencies in equal measure. It’s raw, but cozy. Fresh, but familiar. Raucous, but refined.
