Leivi Angelin is a Filipino-American artist, producer, and audio engineer based in Winston-Salem, NC. Her debut EP Noirette is a sultry, genre-defiant meditation on grief in its many forms: romantic, familial, and existential. Released on December 15, 2023, the day she graduated from UNC Asheville with a B.S. in Music Technology, the project reflects years of personal and creative growth.
Leivi self-produces her work and often collaborates with guitarist and producer Zak Jordan, who co-produced Noirette and later released its sister EP Overnight. A standout track, “The Devil’s Bow,” is a cover of a song by longtime collaborator Tirece Cheshire (aka Governor Vomit), with whom she debuted in 2017 as part of the dreamy pop duo Leivi and the Cat.
She also performs as one of three vocalists in the six-piece band ZINC, known for harmony-heavy sets and barroom charm.
“It sounds like a record. It's gotta get out there.” — Jude Weinberg, Director of Music Technology, GOAT
Leivi describes her process as “pooping out my feelings. I absorb what I need, and the rest goes. I could die if I don’t.”
