LELÉKA – is a Berlin-based Ukrainian folk-jazz quartet, showcasing the highly distinctive style they’ve been mesmerizing audiences with since more than 8 years. Rooted in jazz, their music reaches beyond the borders of the genre, embracing singer Viktoria Leléka’s Ukrainian roots and the band’s talent for improvisational freedom. LELÉKA, translating to ‘stork’ in English and coincidentally being the Ukrainian folk symbol of love, good fortune and family happiness, consists of an international lineup of four musicians that found each other in Berlin. After being nominated as a “Band of the Year” by German Jazz Award 2022 and their performances at the Jazzahead 2022, renowned German journalist Sebastian Scotney wrote: “Her two performances have stayed in a lot of people´s minds. People remember her astonishing capacity to bring audiences in, and to make time stand completely still. LELÉKA needs to be heard and seen live”
