LA artist Leo Forest treats pop music as a vehicle for genuine emotion. “I always wanted to do pop music, but not in the same way everyone else does,” he explains. “I know exactly what I want to talk about. Not many male artists in the genre have vulnerable moments, but those moments are fundamental to my story.”
Battling depression and anxiety in his late teens, Leo found peace in songwriting. He penned a series of international smashes for artists and labels including Disney, generating millions of streams, number one radio singles, and three Gold records. After writing LA Riots EDM hit <a href="spotify:track:3mNvLzrGvv7B3V2juH6Lcz" data-name="Divide and Conquer (feat. That diligence paid off in his heart-wrenching single "Crying Wolf," featuring Jaki Nelson. Preceding his upcoming EP, a quarantine performance of unreleased “When I’m Down” went viral, racking up over 175,000 views on social media.
“All of the pieces add up for me,” he leaves off. “I want to change perceptions. When you listen to me, I want you to see it’s okay to be complicated. You don’t have to simplify yourself to be valued.”
