Les Pythons De La Fournaise started in 2007 when illustrator Félix Vincent met Reunionese singer-guitarist René Cadet in the French Alps. With René, Félix began to learn a repertoire of Séga and Maloya songs from the Reunion and Mauritius islands. Soon bassist Mathieu Félix, drummer Anthony Charreau and singer-percussionist Céline Vu-Cong joined and the band was born !
After a first EP « Premié Viraz » in 2010, followed by their first album « « SLP ! » in 2013, Les Pythons toured in France and Europe, performing their groovy and irresistibly danceable set of Séga and Maloya music, paying tribute to the great artists from the Indian Ocean and throwing a handful of original compositions in the mix. After several line-up changes and a beautiful acoustic album entitled « l'Orchestre Du Piton », the band stabilised again in 2018 with a fresh line-up including Reunionese singer Clémentine Duchemann, guitarist David Grasselli, drummer Jean-Philippe Curtelin and bassist Florent « « Flaz » Cippelletti. Their most psychedelic record to date « Tout Z'étoil » came out in Spring 2023.
