Post-whatever. Bristol.
Falling off the tightrope between anxiety and the relative freedom of hope(lessness).
//
There’s a common societal narrative about “getting over” negative or traumatic events. Perhaps that has the effect of adding a layer of shame to already complex emotions, as if you are wrong for feeling them. Lessens say fuck that. It's alright to feel shit. Darkness can be a place of beauty, virtue and hope in its own right.
A Bristol-based three-piece, Lessens’ reverb-drenched reductivism serves up brooding quiet and haunting melancholy. Spacious textures traverse the gamut from sombre to seismic, with sporadic eruptions of vitriol and almost accidental happiness. It’s about clarity, simplification and sparsity. This ethos is inspired not just by the noise of living, but by the tension between anxiety and expectation.

Lessens are:
Jamie Harper: guitar, vocals
Ben Curtis: bass
Andy Holliday: drums
