Levi Bloom is a writer and artist specialising in irreverent, incandescently catchy pop music. Born and raised in Liverpool, Bloom cut his teeth in the writers' rooms of Nashville and L.A. as a staff writer for Rondor Publishing, before making his way back to Britain in early 2016.
In 2017, Levi partnered with writer/producer Richard Craker (Dagny, Emily Middlemas) with plans to strip his writing back to basics and make some music that would, at the very least, make the two of them laugh. Pulling on seemingly disparate influences from ABBA to Jackson Browne and Bowie, past Talking Heads to Tom Waits via Queen, Coltrane and Creedence Clearwater Revival; they're efforts produced 'Weird Dude Dance', Levi's debut record, set for release in spring 2018.
Written about a night Bloom spent dancing on his own in a Berlin nightclub, Weird Dude Dance is an infectious, ridiculous, really rather pointless rallying cry for anyone who has ever felt the need to dance very weird. Love it or hate it, the melody will bury itself deep inside your mind for a long time to come.
Keep and eye out for more tunes, videos and live shows from Levi Bloom throughout 2018.
