John & Yoko. Jack and Meg. Now Lexy & Mike - a creatively offbeat English husband and wife songwriting and musical duo based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) NZ. Following Lexytron’s genre-bending debut album ‘Something Blue’, lead singer Lexy slips into something more electronic on ‘Something New’, pairing an alternative pop rock style with sardonic wit, big choruses, and a painful honesty that has now become her trademark. The album was self-produced in Auckland and mixed and mastered by London producer Marco Meloni. Current single 'Elevator' is “The missing song from every 80s John Hughes movie and a fizzy coming of age synth-pop bop, fit for spinning on table tops and bouncing on beds.”
Lexy In The Press (‘Disco Jenny’ single campaign):
- We Write About Music (US) - “One of pop’s freshest voices to watch this year.”
- The 13th Floor (NZ) - “Song Of The Day”
- Parkett (IT) - “In a musical landscape that often chases trends, Lexytron confidently carves out a space that feels both nostalgic and fresh.”
- La Caverna (MX) - “… sonic dynamite, ideal for those looking for pop with grit and depth.”
- Thomathy Entertainment (UK) - “For fans of intelligent pop with a theatrical twist and a refusal to play it safe.”
- Obscure Sound (US) - “it’s a spectacular showcase of her originality and performance flair.”
