Active since 2006, Lhi Balòs play original patchanka d’Oc (world-music, traditional-Occitan, ska, reggae, balkan-folk) and their music output mirrors their cultural vitality and open-mindedness.
In 2011 they took part in the ‘Memorial Concert’ in Cuneo where they played ‘Hubert’, written for the
occasion , which was later recorded and used as the soundtrack of the docu-film: ‘I the undersigned – the
history of a free man’ on Don Aldo Benevelli’s life , a partisan priest .
In 2019 they released ‘M’en vau’, an album which represents a shift to a new phase of the band’s production.
So far they have released two demos and two albums, they have shared the stage with Goran Bregovic & His Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, joined several important festivals in Italy, France and Catalunya.
During 2021, also due to the ongoing pandemic, Lhi Balòs — at the foot of the Alps — and Alidè Sans with Paulin Courtial — nestled in the Pyrenees — recorded the collaboration on the track "Triste es lo cèl". It's a union between the Occitan Alps and the Pyrenees, united by culture and music.
In February 2023, the single L’Ase is released: a song that revolves around the figure of an animal that has always been stigmatized. The lyrics, inspired by a story from the partisan Sergio Bruna.
The single heralds the release of the new album BEICA!
