I’m on a mission to explore life’s challenging yet beautiful landscape through art. This is to be accomplished through you (yes, YOU!), singing along to catchy melodies and expertly-crafted lyrics.
Now, for part where I write about myself in third person.
Liam van der Heyde or ‘Liam Cova’ is a young singer-songwriter based in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing a BSc in Conservation Ecology, Liam started pursuing a career in music, having started out as a busker in late 2023. His career rapidly gained traction after becoming known for his immersive performances, smooth vocal tone and exceptional guitar skills.
Liam has shared major stages with some of Cape Town's most influential artists including Craig Lucas, Chad Saaiman, Jimmy Nevis, Liam Burger, Carletheia, Fagrie Isaacs, Keeno Lee and Robin Pieters.
He has been accepted into the V&A Waterfront's Buskers Programme, an opportunity highly sought-after by local upcoming artists. Liam has also been accepted into the Cape Town Arts Festival's 'Beyond Busking Project', through which he learnt valuable songwriting techniques under the mentorship of renowned South African songwriter, Clive Ridgeway.
Being a science graduate, Liam seeks to marry his passion for logical consistency with his love for artistic expression, through the use of thoughtful lyrics and profound songwriting techniques. Join him on his journey by tuning into his music and checking out his social pages!
