Mostly a studio project, LightBody Sound started in Portland, Oregon in 2019 at Kanude’s home studio with the sessions brought in to Jackpot! Recording Studios, for additional recording with producer Larry Crane (Elliott Smith, The Decembrists). The debut album released in 2020, features classically-trained singer Lilley Faye (The Song Healer) on lead vocals for multiple tracks. The album is an amalgam of synth-wave, dream pop, new wave revival, and more esoteric and new-age leaning, conscious music influences.
The subsequent releases have so far been more experimental endeavors like the epic 47-minute trance/alt/opera <a href="spotify:track:7hk8ox1PwNjwLg8kAP652e" data-name="Breath of God (an Ascension Odyssey)">Breath of God (an Ascension Odyssey)</a> and the all-instrumental harp-inspired <a href="spotify:album:65ympkBJsEJ9U3eef7zTod" data-name="Harpejio">Harpejio</a>.
