Lil Haiti is a whole vibe. The Haitian born hip hop artist has been a master at coming up with undeniable melodies and catchy hooks since a very young age. “I was always into entertainment,” he says. “And I had the ideas.”
Born Andre Fils, he moved to Brooklyn at the age of 10, becoming a producer was a natural progression for the burgeoning artist influenced by Timbaland, Ryan Leslie, Rodney Jerkins and Dr. Dre.
Lil Haiti achieved viral success with “The Wave,”which spawned the #HitTheWaveChallenge that caught the attention of Chris Brown and earned a shoutout from popular media personality Taxstone. “I just knew I was going in the right direction,” Lil Haiti says.
Lil Haiti was correct. The success continued with hits “Low It Down” and “Good Vibe.” The Fader praised “Low It Down” and “Good Vibe” made a global impact, reaching 10 million streams and prompting fans in Europe, India, China and Panama to create challenge videos. The latter was also in rotation on Hot 97. “It showed me that you can do it,” he says.
The feel good nature is consistent with all of Lil Haiti’s music -- “Panicking,” “Bounce,” “Air Force 1,” “Run For It” -- and makes him one of hip hop’s most promising breakout artists.
