My next song concept
When I was constructing the idea of the song, I had to get into the mindset of being my own hype man. There is an alternative hook that I had that was about this idea. I had to change it because it didn't capture the essence of being your own hype man. It talked about how others perceive me rather than how I perceive myself. The new intro addresses this issue because I wrote the new intro (The one in the song) in the first-person viewpoint, so when listeners hear it, they will become their own hype man. I wanted the verses and each word to be spoken energetically. When you listen to the piece, you can see the song performing well in a live performance. In a previous song, I explored the singing aspect. I did the same in this song as well through harmonies. I wanted the harmony to sound pleasing to the ears and not just a voice but a sound. The sound created is due to a heavy reverberation. As the song continues, I not only use my voice to increase the energy gradually, I use harmonies to build-up momentum for when I repeat the hook. The ending is similar to the beginning in a sense it has the same harmonies. But the harmonies are pitched up and played in reverse for some. When I experimented with this, it gave me an angelic sound. I was going for a sacred sound to symbolize the end but keep the excitement like a roller coaster. In the end, I had it pitched up and down. It also had a reversed layer on top of it. I wanted it to sound imperfect yet perfect.
