Richard Catilano, known by his stage name "Lil Slugga," was born in Sicily, Italy, on September 20th, 2004. However, his life took a tumultuous turn when he moved to Florida, at the tender age of six. Lil Slugga's journey into the world of rap was far from ordinary. At the age of just nine, he was thrust into the unforgiving realities of life when he lost his mother, father, and brother in a tragic accident in Clearwater, Florida, on June 15, 2013. Struggling with the weight of his grief and a rebellious attitude found himself homeless at the age of nine.The hardships of his early life taught Lil Slugga that life's lessons are often more powerful than anything he had ever faced also with depression . At the age of 15, he discovered his outlet for emotions through poetry. At 15, Lil Slugga crossed paths with Darius Washington who became his close friend and rap partner. they honed their skills by participating in open mic rap battles in Orlando, Florida. On June 8th, Lil Slugga showcased his first freestyle rap battle, effortlessly out-rapping 18 other artists. This marked the beginning of his ascent in the Florida music scene. By 16, Lil Slugga's life underwent a transformation when he was discovered by Kevin Gates and signed with Bread Winners Association. His rise continued when he appeared on the "Sway in the Morning" show, delivering a freestyle performance that left a lasting impression.
