To Accra based multi-hyphenate artist lilkwaw, music is but another medium through which he explores the human experience using the many creative influences that have shaped him growing up in Accra.
Born Khalid Iddisah, of Gonja and Akan heritage, he first fell in love with music ripping an uncle's many music CDs unto his Xbox console exposing himself to 2000s Rap music, golden age Ghanaian Hip-Life, early Grime, Pop and Dance music.
His enduring interest and fascination with music and popular culture would prove instrumental in him beginning to write music himself and eventually picking up DJing and producing at 16 chiefly influenced by the EDM music and blog era rap of the early 2010s.
Subsequent years would also see him develop a deep love for photography and cinema, seeing him pursue a BFA in Directing and subsequent practice as a director and cinematographer.
All this has culminated in his current musical pursuits where he seeks to fuse Afrobeats with his many rap influences
, along with visual influences that hopefully are able to vividly portray the everyday struggle of living in Accra as a creative.
