Limestone Heart * started as a collaboration between Niall Howe and Krista Schmeling (based on the limestone plains of Canberra Australia), and now includes accomplished violinist Barbara Lemon. The song, ‘Somewhere Where Time Stood Still’ , features the molasses vocals and ghostly guitar work of talented Seattle artist Pete Marshall (of Pete Marshall and the New Broke West).
Limestone Heart combines elements of early styles of country and Americana as well as Irish ballads, tapping into the band's origins, connecting with them the ethereal past and the full-some present. This emerging album has been mixed by Craig Marshallsey and mastered by Joe Carra (Crystal Mastering).
Krista Schmeling was born in the Midwest USA, and has been based in Australia since the late 90s. She has been a songwriter in Americana bands The Honeybells, The Rooftop Revellers, Kristabelle and the Southern Jubilee Ringers, and The Everlastings. She also writes poetry (see Ros Spencer poetry prize and Eunoia Review). Niall Howe was born in the north-west of Ireland, later moved to Scotland, and now calls Canberra, Australia home. His musical journey has been shaped by a wide range of influences and collaborations. He has been involved with projects such as The Dreamliners, Dr Jones, Big Bang Big Band, Strathmannan, Liam McKahey and The Bodies, East Row Rabble, and The Wildfires. https://limestoneheart.bandcamp.com/track/somewhere-where-time-stood-still (Cover art: Brett Quodling)
