Lindsey Abudei is a singer-songwriter, recording/performing artist and improv vocal composer, influenced by diverse genres— Classical, Rock, Blues, Jazz, R&B & Electronica— shaped into a genre-fluid, contemporary sound.
She has worked on live and recording collaborations with MI Abaga,Jesse Jagz, Kahli Abdu, British trumpeter, Tom Arthurs, Grammy award-nominated composers, Vijay Iyer and Morgan Guerin.
In 2019, she worked as a sound collaborator with Ivorian photographer, Keren Lasme for her ‘The Cosmic Dance’ project and Ghanaian photographer, Kwasi Darko for his ‘HERE AND NOW’ project.
Her work, she says, is inspired by the human experience and its spectrum — and as an artist, is curious about multidisciplinary approaches to exploring intersections of music and other visual media like film, photography, movement.
Lindsey is a 2013 Radio France Internationale (RFI) Prix Découvertes Awardee, a 2017 Art OMI Music Fellow, a 2018 Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) alum., a 2018 BANFF Jazz & Creative Music alum, a 2019 Pop-Kultur Nachwuch artist, a 2019 ColabNowNow Art resident, a 2021 OneBeat Music Fellow and a 2022 Black Girls Glow Sound Fellow.
