Lindsey Abudei is a singer-songwriter, recording/performing artist and improv vocal composer, influenced by diverse genres— Classical, Rock, Folk, Jazz, R&B & Electronica— shaped into a genre-fluid, contemporary sound.
She has worked on live and recording collaborations with MI Abaga,Jesse Jagz, Kahli Abdu, British trumpeter, Tom Arthurs, Grammy award-nominated composers, Vijay Iyer and Morgan Guerin.
In 2019, she worked as a sound collaborator with Ivorian photographer, Keren Lasme for her ‘The Cosmic Dance’ project and Ghanaian photographer, Kwasi Darko for his ‘HERE AND NOW’ project.
Her work, she says, is inspired by the tapestry of the human experience — and as an artist, is curious about multidisciplinary approaches to exploring intersections of music and other visual media like film, photography + design.
Lindsey is a Radio France Internationale (RFI) Prix Découvertes Awardee, an Art OMI Music Fellow, a Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) alum., a BANFF Music alum, a Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs artist, a ColabNowNow Art resident, a OneBeat Music Fellow and a Koshka Sound Fellow.
