Based in San Diego, Liquid Blue was founded by vocalist Scott Stephens in 1996. In 2004 the band released its debut LP, SUPERNOVA, a pop/rock fusion of East & West. The LP was nominated for “Best Pop Album” at the San Diego Music Awards and featured the regional hit single "Real.” Supernova caught the attention of a major Chinese distributor, who released a Chinese version of Supernova. Multiple tours of China were arranged, and “LB” was suddenly playing sold-out arenas in major Chinese cities while singing in English & Mandarin. Then due to the SARS epidemic, future tours were canceled. But the band continued its relentless touring schedule and, by 2008, had performed in 100 countries. After a long absence from recording and still experimenting with an unorthodox genre of socially conscious world-pop, in 2010, Liquid Blue released the multi-language track "Earth Passport," which featured vocals in nine languages and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales Chart. Between 2013 and 2015, the band hunkered down in Stephens Ocean Beach home studio and recorded an unprecedented fourteen albums of cover songs. In 2023 the band abandoned their Eastern pop-fusion style and released an EP with five hard-rock tracks. Currently known for remakes and performances at private events, Liquid Blue features a cast of top session & touring musicians. Stephens hopes to bring this “dream team” into the studio to release another full-length album of original music.
