Liro Yay

Liro Yay pays homage to his roots while crafting the sounds of the future. The thirty-seven-year-old singer-songwriter is originally from Colombia but has been located in Canada for well over a decade. Growing up he drew off his Spanish roots and listened to a lot of Control Machete, SFDK, and Doble V, among others. He also kept up with the rising genre of rap in America, drawing inspiration from the Wu-Tang Clan and Cypress Hill. When he decided to make music himself, the reggaeton style that flooded Spanish airwaves was soon blended with the urban culture he became adjusted to in North America to create a genre that was multi-cultural and dynamic like the man himself. Songs like “La Faldita” show off his vocal range and sense of rhythm as he crafts banger after banger. Liro is also an accomplished lyricist and is able to craft whole stories in his lyrics, telling tales of heartbreak and long-term love with ease. Liro Yay is only set to make an even bigger splash with his recent release, “Pa Otra Parte,” and hopes to continue to grow his fan base across the globe.
