Paris-based artist Lisa Burek channels a form of “post-industrial healing” through her music, where raw, dark, and dissonant sounds become tools of resonance and transformation. Influenced by percussive rhythms, her debut album “Écailles” delves into themes of intimacy, the relationship with the body, pain, and resilience. Iconic figures like Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, and Vi Subversa, as well as Monique Wittig and Judith Butler, inspire her compositions, shaped by cathartic and spontaneous bodily movements.
Originally from Lorraine, France, Burek draws on her personal journey — marked by an endometriosis diagnosis and complex health challenges — to shape her work. Trained in piano from a young age, she ventured into music by founding the post-punk duo Sina Moon and initiated bold collaborations with her sisters on musical and visual projects that blend raw techno with punk.
