Lisa Gilliam

Lisa Gilliam (1SingingLady) has been singing and writing since the age of 7. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Drama with a minor in vocal music performance from Virginia Union University (VUU). While at VUU she was acting and singing in many of the VUU Players’ theatre and musical theatre productions as a lead or supporting cast member, sang in the VUU Concert Choir and was often requested to sing in various events on and off campus. Lisa also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education and Human Development with a concentration in Community Counseling from The George Washington University (GW). While at GW, Lisa took ministerial classes at her church and was later licensed and ordained as an Evangelist.

Professionally, Lisa is known for the manner in which she integrates her training and experience as a counselor and educator with her artistic talents especially at conferences, seminars and workshops. Simply put, Lisa is a mental health advocate, speaker, writer, poet and vocalist that is intentional about integrating mental health awareness with the performance, communication, and literary arts.
