Little Big Sea show themselves with a new sound. Inspired by French pop chansons of the 60s and early 90s - by women like Francoise Hardy and France Gal.
A very contemporary and idiosyncratic electro pop sound. For two years the band worked on their new sound with the support of their producer Rudi Maier (Burkini Beach, Das Paradies) - and the intensive search for a new sound spectrum was wort its while: The wide synthesizer surfaces were replaced by airy, rhythmic bass sounds, lines got replaced, the programmed beats exchanged by analog drums.
A special focus is still put on the lyrics: Marlene Weber tells personal stories. Sometimes in big historical pictures - for example as a witness of the fire of Rome, from the winter palace of the Russian czarina - sometimes quite immediate and intimate. But always with a narrative power that makes the music of Little Big Sea something special.
