"As I sit in my apartment, I look around the room and see the bookshelf I made a few years ago at our last house... the lamp with flowers on it that a friend of a friend gave me over a decade ago... the jade plant my wife grew from a small cutting that's now fifty times it's original size... an intricately carved wooden plate that my late father brought back from one of his business trips to India when I was a child... a couch given to us by my brother that he drove 7 hours to deliver because we didn't have any furniture... Everything in this small space has a story. Each object is imbued with time, care, relationships.
These stories are the mycelial web that bring nourishment and meaning to this otherwise simple life. I don't have much, but I do have this section of time and space carved out in the shape of me. This is my home. This is my life. This is my little forest."
