From their first EP, “Mother” (2016), Lo-ghost have been bending the pop genre to their will. Comprised of Cape Town musicians and producers Evan Strauss and Shannon Devy, their work is characterised by a fearless, emotive handling of difficult aspects of human condition, from the queer experience to grief and loneliness, all rendered in the band’s characteristic gut-punch lyricism, massive vocals, rich rhythmic sensibility and lush sonics. Their ability to connect quickly and indelibly with an audience has earned them a devoted cult following in their hometown and beyond.
