LO-VA

LO-VA is a transatlantic electronic music duo formed by Cal and Ethan Owen. Though nearly 8,000 kilometers separates them, together, the brothers have the same creative synergy they have shared since adolescence. LO-VA is their first long-distance project; previously, the brothers performed as part of UK indie band Scholars. The name LO-VA refers to their home bases: London, UK and Vancouver, Canada.

The duo produced their first singles, “Do One” and “Virus”, in January and February 2020 - tracks they describe as “obnoxious,” “intense,” and “stressful.”

Their forthcoming summer anthem, “You Could Fall In Love,” began as a composition for Cal’s solo project, Solcal. He admits he’s often “not completely sold on a track” until Eth has reviewed it, and in this case, it wasn’t until Eth’s remix that “You Could Fall In Love” was destined to become a LO-VA release.

While physical distance keeps them apart - Cal has a regular rotation of indie and rock gigs in Vancouver whereas Eth continues DJing in the London scene - it’s clear that LO-VA keeps the brothers together as present and future collaborators. - Wordplay Creative
