Lochaven

Comprised of four friends from the suburbs of Detroit, Lochaven is a purely grassroots enterprise. Held together by the strong bonds shared by the band’s members, and named after a local road that connects their towns, Lochaven is a group focused on music and rooted in community. How you define Lochaven, however, is up for interpretation: “It’s my favorite way to drain my energy,” says Gabe (vocals). To Ethan (bass), it’s about “pushing our limits while writing enjoyable music.” PJ (drums) feels that Lochaven is “proof that there is hope for a better world,” while Jake (guitar), simply calls the band “our truth.”

Lochaven has released one album (2020’s Change is Upon Us), along with a host of singles, and they’re set to release their new EP, Saturday Mourning Car Tunes, later this spring. The group’s brand of anthemic, melodic rock has already started quite the stir, garnering press from All Access Music, Substream Magazine, and V13, amongst others, and being featured on playlists like Loudwire’s Weekly Wire, Marble Collective’s Fresh Rock, and New Fury Media’s TNF Discover, along with a variety of local radio stations.
