Logal Kako, born in the Mediterranean city of Tartus to a family of Assyrian descent, is a Syrian naturalized Swedish singer-songwriter, producer, and writer.
His debut album, 21 Minutes and 11 Seconds in This Strange World, was written and produced in the garage of his family’s home in Western Sydney and recorded in Barcelona, where he is now based.
Logal drew inspiration for the album from Elif Shafak’s novel, 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World, which explores the brain’s recollection of life memories in the moments after death. His album, however, offers a more hopeful twist—focusing on rebirth after recovery from depression and trauma rooted in experiences of home, war, family dynamics, heartbreak, and loss.
