A Melbourne based producer and sound designer since 2016, creating evocative tunes inspired by 90’s dance and 80’s disco with modern soul house beats. Kristal Lava grew up listening to music of the 90’s, this continues to inspire and influence her today. Her influences include Flight Facilities, Moby, Groove Armada, Guts, Leon Vynehall and Purple Disco Machine. Long Lost is not bound by a single genre, instead creating a sound inspired by all her favourite tunes, always with the intention of getting her listeners in the mood to dance.
Being an identical twin, Kristal Lava likens her music to what is known as the Twins Paradox, an experiment in physics involving one twin travelling through space and time, and remaining ageless. Comparatively her music delves into a modern interpretation of timeless 90s classic sounds, as if travelling through musical space and time.
Kristal Lava's upcoming single release, A lot of pretty friends, a symphonic house track that blends elements of electronic dance and UK garage, giving a sense of nostalgia that is bound to appeal to the raver in all of us.
