Producer/performer Long Tongue has been shaking up Austin, Texas' beat scene as of late. Tongue's Chest collapsing trap bass and wildly mystifying melodies contrast profoundly with sparkling synth panoramas for brain melting fun. You can hear influences from G Jones, Rustie, LSDream and Odesza. Long Tongue is Jimmy Evans, who co-organizes the monthly live electronic music event called Imaginary Stereo with Steve Homan, another famed bass producer from Austin. While POLYHAZE was a playful departure from contemporary agro bass sounds, Sand To Glass is equal parts cinematic sci-fi and cerebrally synthetic. Long Tongue has played all over Texas and surrounding. He's educated in Wildlife Biology and is actually an interpretive Park Ranger as a day job. You'll hear natural textures and sounds throughout his music. Expect Tongue to expand the landscape of Austin experimental bass music in 2021 with more releases and more live performances.
