I’m just a girl who has always dreamed of making music that would move people to hope, while being as honest as I can about my struggles.
I grew up singing with my parents and siblings (awwww) in church and solo in coffee shops and community functions. As cookie-cutter as that sounds, life unfolded and I found myself a young single mother trying to regain my foothold and get through cosmetology school. There was not a lot of time for my musical passions, and it was just emotionally exhausting. Battling depression and learning to forgive myself for the things I had walked away from, it was a process to find my way back to ok. My inner voice was always strong, and I knew I needed to somehow help others some day (when life made more sense. Ha.) as a result of my story. Little did I know, the battle was relentless and I realized that there would be no perfect time to try to make a difference. I’d have to do it in the middle of a storm, and many times when I was feeling at an all time low. Just being real. My faith brought me through.
As an adult, I’ve directed as many musicals and led worship in as many places that I could. My husband and I are raising 4 children ranging in age from 5-19 years old, so life is crazy, but I am completely addicted to the way music makes me feel alive and full of purpose...my goal is to pass that along to as many people as I can.
If there is one thing I pray my listeners take away, it’s that they are never alone. Ever.
